The Vegan Cheat Sheet, a Great Vegan Resource Guide

The Vegan Cheat Sheet is a nifty little book that’s  so much more than a cookbook. It,s a great for the new or experienced vegan who wants a resource manual to keep at your side. I purchased this book in 2015 when I was really getting started being vegan full time. I wanted a cookbook, and information support all at the same time, and found my answer in The Vegan Cheat Sheet.

Probably the best thing a busy vegan eater needs is a guide to getting quick meals without having to worry about ready through entire menus. With this guide, you can study ahead of time the different restaurants and know what they offer. If you want to prepare a quick, talk along meal, you have over 100 recipes at your finger tips that only take a few minutes to prepare. Yet, you’ll have the vitamins and minerals you need at the same time.

Here are some of the other areas covered by this vegan cheat sheet:

an information section on the benefits of eating a vegan menu. Working on lowering your cholesterol? Need to loss excess weight? Find out why a vegan diet can help. Learn about how you get the nutrients you need in a vegan diet.

You’ll find lots of billeted lists that make reading fast too. Go to specific chapters and breeze through in a very short time.  One called the vegan Eat Sheet, lists foods to avoid and foods to eat – in an easy format.

One section I find very valuable is the vegan replacements section. For instance, if you want to make a great Alfredo sauce but not use cheese and dairy, use the suggested alternative of cashew cream. Learn what to use to make a butter milk substitutee.

THe heart of the book is the 21 Day Vegan Transformation section. I loved this section because it helped give suggestions for each meal, taking you through 211 days. The section is followed by a lengthy section of receipts that are not only quick to prepare but really delicious.  The good thing is there aren’t a lot of ingredients for all of the recipes and you’ll probably have he majority of ingredients in your pantry. I’ve made the Eggplant “Parmesan”Shepard’s Pie, and a very quick Thai Pad Thai (and delicious I might add).

The dishes are hearty and tasty enough for the whole family to enjoy. My husband, who have put up wit h of lot of experimentation in my vegan ventures, loved each of these dishes. There are staple for you too, like a Nut Bteer recipe, one for “Power muffins”, Apple Cobbler and even a Chocolate Chip Biscotti. You’ll start losing excuses not to take your own meals to work each day by simply making a bit more at dinner and pack it up for lunch.

In case you actually do need to eat out start with the “quick tips for eating out” section, then one on various restaurants and what they serve.  Find listing for over 60 restaurants that you will find in most towns.  What I’ve found by using this type of guide is that you soon learn what to look for when you go to a place not listed. Your senses get keener to look for the vegan foods wherever you go.

There are still more areas of the great little guide that you’ll be delighted to explore. The 5×8 size makes it perfect to fit into a purse or backpack.  I kept it in my suitcase so it’ was with me when ever I traveled and I still enjoy it years later. I’m sure some of the recipes will become staples you go to again and again.  Find it on Amazon and start enjoying fast.
